Cleveland police are investigating the death of a stillborn infant as a homicide following a domestic violence incident.
According to police, on Sunday a 17-year-old girl was assaulted by her biological mother and was taken to the hospital. Upon arrival, she discovered that her unborn child had died.
The victim had abrasions on her face and delivered a stillborn baby at the hospital. She is still at MetroHealth medical center.
Members of the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit responded to the hospital to investigate and will determine the final cause of the child's death.
