Reuters reported Tuesday afternoon that shots were fired at a Cleveland police transport vehicle near the site of the Republican National Convention, but Cleveland police say that report is false.

Cleveland police and the City of Cleveland tweeted a short time later, saying rumors that shots were fired at a transport vehicle were false.

A following tweet from Reuters clarified that shots were heard near a police vehicle downtown. Police have yet to confirm that information to newsnet5.com.
