A SUV plowed into the bedroom of a home in southeast Cleveland where a grandmother, grandfather and 4-month-old baby were sleeping early Thursday morning.
It happened just after 1:30 a.m. at Dynes Avenue and E. 174th Place. The driver missed the 90-degree turn and drove through the front yard and into the house.
Grandparents Lacreasa and Lindsey Whitfield woke up to a bang.
"I grabbed the baby and rolled over. The next thing you know, the truck was on top of the bed. We ended up pinned in the corner. When my daughter ran downstairs, all she saw was the truck so she thought we were gone because she didn't hear us," Lacreasa Whitfield said.

Lindsey Whitfield said the driver unsuccessfully tried to back up and get away.
He was arrested by Cleveland police. It's unknown what charges he may face and if drugs or alcohol were factors.
Cleveland EMS checked out the grandparents and the 4-month-old, but no one suffered any injuries beyond a few cuts.

Whitfield plans to go to city leaders to get a guardrail installed to prevent another crash from happening again.
