Driver hospitalized after car crashes into Superior Bridge

CLEVELAND — A driver is hospitalized after a car crashed into the railroad bridge over Superior Avenue in Cleveland Friday morning.

The crash happened at around 3:35 a.m, just past East 39th Street.

The driver, identified as a 40-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS.

He remains at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in critical condition.

The westbound lanes were closed earlier as crews removed the vehicle.
