A family and a pet rabbit made it safely out of a house fire in Tremont — near the "A Christmas Story" House — Sunday.
The fire started when a space heat ignited curtains, and the fire destroyed the home on the 1100 block of Rowley, fire officials said.
No one was home at the time of the fire and someone got the family's pet rabbit out.
