Green Party pull

Former Ohio State Senator, Nina Turner turned down an opportunity to add her name as Vice Presidential candidate for the Green Party.

Turner, who has been campaigning hard for Sen. Bernie Sanders, said she did not always agree with some of the decisions made within the Democratic Party. Even so, Turner said she will continue to support her party.

“I want to move on and push this party in a progressive platform that I’d fought for and senator Bernie Sanders had fought for,” said Turner. “I am a lifelong democrat and I’m going to continue to fight to be a reformer, right in the democrat party. I’m going to be there to keep them honest.”

Turner said Se. Sanders’ ideals lined up with her goals: affordable college, raising minimum wage and fighting poverty.

“Our country is great, but it can always be better,” said Turner.
