Heavy smoke billowed into the air in Cleveland Tuesday afternoon after multiple cars caught fire on the east side.

According to the Cleveland Fire Department, at least three cars caught fire in the area of East 55th Street and St. Clair Avenue.

Cleveland EMS was called to the scene but no injuries were reported.

A worker said they were lifting a van with a crane to move it when something exploded. Other cars in the area then caught fire.

The flames were mostly out by 5:30 p.m.
