A bill is being discussed by state lawmakers that would allow people to carry concealed weapons on state universities, like Cleveland State and Ohio State.
House Bill 48 passed the House and is now working its way through the state Senate.
The bill was discussed in Columbus Wednesday, just two days after an attacker used his car and a knife to hurt a dozen people at Ohio State.
The attacker was shot and killed by a police officer.
But, what would happen if students and staff were allowed to carry guns on campus?
That’s what state lawmakers are discussing.
The bill would allow universities to make policies that allow people to carry concealed handguns on campus.
No action was taken on the bill Wednesday, but it will be discussed again next week in committee.
No vote is scheduled at this time.
