Marcus Wainwright, 32, was arrested on Monday after allegedly attempting to lure a 10-year-old child into his van.

According to police reports, officers responded to a call from the child's father after he reported that a white Chevrolet van with blue lines running across the side tried to get his son to enter the vehicle. He stated that his son was riding his bike between Carson and Bell avenues when the van stopped on the street and invited him in the vehicle.

When the boy declined, Wainwright said he had candy inside the van. The boy then ran to his home and reported the incident to his father.

When his father went outside, he saw the van pulling away. The child's father also reported that the van had a bed and a couch in it.

Officers toured the area in search of the van but could not locate the vehicle.

Later that day, another officer saw the van at Heritage View Estates. After running the license plates of the van, officers located Wainwright at the apartment complex.

Wainwright cooperated during the arrest. His phone and vehicle were seized by police.

He is being held on charges of criminal child enticement.
