A man who escaped police custody by leaving MetroHealth Medical Center through a bathroom window has been captured by the U.S. Marshals.

Antwoine Thomas, 28, escaped on Nov. 4. He was arrested on Nov. 9 near the 13900 block of Superior Avenue in East Cleveland.

"We developed information through the course of our investigation that Thomas escaped in hopes to spend his birthday, Nov. 10, as a free man," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. "The fugitive task force wasn't going to allow him to dictate when he was going back behind bars."

He has an extensive criminal history including arson, burglary, escape and drugs.

The U.S. Marshals captured Thomas in East Cleveland on Thursday.
