CLEVELAND — Officers from several units of the Cleveland Division of Police came together on Friday to help beautify the memorial for fall Cleveland police officer David Fahey on I-90.
Nearly $500 in supplies was donated from the Home Depot to beautify the area around the highway sign that remembers Fahey, who was struck and killed while laying flares along I-90 in January 2017.
Fahey's family also came out to help create a fitting memorial for the fallen hero.
He was hired on July 1, 2014, and assigned to the First District.
Fahey was also a U.S. Navy veteran. Following his death, his family released a statement expressing his love for the city of Cleveland and said above anything else, Fahey loved being a Cleveland policeman.
