Want a Tiny House in CLE? Here's how you buy

Posted

Cleveland's 'tiny house' experiment is moving forward.

Community members announced last year that they would develop an EcoVillage in the city's Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood and now they are making good on that promise.

Two tiny houses will be constructed on West 58th Street and Pear Avenue to determine the level of demand for the residences.

The homes will be 583 square feet with two bedrooms and a loft and they are being built with an emphasis on sustainable living.

A tiny house open house for potential buyers will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Urban Community School on Lorain Avenue.

Groundbreaking is expected in the Spring. One of the houses will be sold by Sutton Builders. The other will be temporarily owned by the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization.

The project is backed by a $140,000 donation from Citizen's Bank.
