CLE State get portable radios from safety forces

Posted

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Department of Public Safety donated 50 portable radios to the Cleveland State University Police Department on Monday.

OSHP said the 50 radios, which were previously used by OSHP troopers, were transferred to the department rather than sent to the state to be salvaged. The radios were provided to help the department in upgrading its communications capabilities.

"We know inter-agency cooperation and partnerships are critical to improving the services provided by Ohio law enforcement," said Colonel Paul Pride, patrol superintendent. "The Patrol supports local law enforcement and is pleased to have the opportunity to assist the Cleveland State University Police Department by providing these radios."

"The men and women of the Cleveland State University Police Department value the rich partnership shared with the Ohio State Highway Patrol,' said Chief Gary Lewis. "We appreciate the portable radios, which will be used to enhance inter-agency communications."
