University Heights police reported the mother called 911 and said she was outside with her son's dad and they heard a loud noise. She ran inside the home as a 15-year-old was running outside.

The report stated the 19-year-old was found by police at a residence on Baintree Road with a bullet wound. He was taken to University Hospitals by the University Heights Fire Department.

Police said they learned the 15-year-old accidentally shot the 19-year-old.

Officials are trying to confirm who owned the gun. Police learned both the father and 19-year-old owned guns.

The incident is under investigation.
