CLEVELAND — On Thursday, officers from the Cleveland Police Department were able to stop and recover a stolen vehicle taken at gunpoint with the help of OnStar.
According to News 5's overnight photographer Mike Vielhaber, Cleveland police were able to recover the car taken at gunpoint by using OnStar to shut the vehicle's engine off.
They were able to stop the vehicle on Woodland Avenue near Woodhill Road in Cleveland.
The alleged carjacker was able to run into Morris Black Place located off of Woodland Avenue. The alleged carjacker was able to get away from police.
The stolen car was recovered without officers initiating a chase.
