A robbery suspect fired a shot at Cleveland police officers Sunday morning.

It happened as officers were responding to a robbery in progress on West 129th Street around 7 a.m.

When officers arrived, they could hear some struggling inside the home. They went around to the backyard and found two men running out of the house. The first suspect ran and hopped a fence, the second man fired one shot at an officer.

Officers did not return fire and was not injured.

The suspect is still at large.

A preliminary investigation shows the victim, Mike, 37, pulled into his driveway and was approached by two men in ski masks with guns. The men forced the victim inside his home and pistol whipped him, according to police.

"I hope they don't get anyone else for one, and two, I don't even want to be here. I just want to bolt from the whole thing," Mike said. "I thought they were going to kill me... I'm just wishing this was all a bad dream, but it wasn't."

"It's insane. It's unsafe," said one of Mike's neighbors. "We need protection...cameras, whatever."

The suspects left behind a stolen vehicle in the victim's driveway.

No injuries were reported.
