Shots were fired near the home of slain 3-year-old Major Howard's family Monday afternoon, Cleveland police said.
Major was shot in the chest in a drive-by shooting while sitting in a car on East 113th Street in September. He later died at the hospital.
Major's grandfather told newsnet5.com that no rounds hit his home but he believes that the shooters may have ben targeting the home. He said his neighbor told him that a van had stopped in front of his home and fired.
He also said that he has recently received threats from the family of the suspect in Major's murder, Donnell Lindsey, and he believes this is connected.
"Right now, we don’t have answers because he won’t turn himself in. So even now, today, my plea is that someone in the city knows where he is. Somebody turn him in," said Freeman.
He added that his son was struck by a car in front of the home last week, and that the driver took off.
Cleveland police said that they found two shell casings near the home and that officers will give special attention to the home.
Police are still looking for 23-year-old Lindsey in connection with the murder.
23-year-old Aaron Dunnings was arrested earlier this month on an aggravated murder charge for the murder.
Major was just one of the multiple children under 15 who were shot and killed in Cleveland last year.
