The Boys and Girls Club has teamed up with the Cleveland Indians.
According to Ken Wood, with the Boys and Girls Club, the idea for the Larry Doby Youth Fund came from Cleveland Indians Manager, Terry Francona.
The Indians created the $1 million fund.
"We’re using it to build relationships between law enforcement and our community," said Ken Wood.
Starr oversees nearly 100 youth every day, 6-18 years old.
The 15 clubs across the area will hold events throughout the year. Next month, police will hold a flag football game with kids.
