President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Cleveland Bill Kitson has resigned.
The board of directors announced Thursday that he left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Kitson began at the company in 2012 after serving as United Way of Greater Toledo president and CEO for seven years.
“Bill has devoted many years to United Way, in Cleveland and in other communities,” said UWGC Board of Directors Chairman Rick Buoncore. “We thank him for his service here in Greater Cleveland, and we wish him well in the next phase of his career.”
“It has been a privilege to be a part of this organization. I wish United Way continued success in its mission to improve the quality of life for people in our community,” Kitson said.
The board has appointed Vice President of Resource Development Simon Bisson as interim president.
