A family is still reeling from shock after University Heights police said their Craigslist roommate stabbed the dog after feeding it cheese.
Police said Sarai Glas, 28, stabbed the little Shih-Tzu named Oscar, who is now recovering from emergency surgery.
Her roommate Juanita Brown said it happened after Glas got upset when she told her not to feed it cheese.
"I told her not to feed them anything, my daughter gives them special food."
Juanita Brown said her daughter, who owns the dog, came home moments later and found Oscar covered in blood, his ear nearly hanging off.
"She always picks her dog up and cuddles him, there was blood all over, she started screaming and crying," Brown said. "I don't understand why she did it."
Police said Glas was so belligerent when they arrived, they had to drag her from the home.
She was charged with injuring an animal, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and resisting arrest in the incident. Glas is due in court on June 14.
