Surveillance video captures a gas station in Warrensville Heights getting robbed over and over again over the past eight months by what looks like the same guys wearing the same clothes each time.
The owner of the busy BP station on Richmond Rd. and Emery Rd. asked us not to identify him, but said he’s scared for the safety of his workers because the robbers keep getting bolder and bolder.
The first break-in was in August of 2015 at 3:50 a.m. when a man smashed the front door, crawled in and stole all the cash and cigarettes he could carry.
In October, again at 3:50 a.m., nearly the exact same scene plays out on surveillance video.
Then, it happens again in February.
In each case, the crooks even brought their own trash bags to carry all the loot.
After every break-in, the owner said he added extra security measures. First, he started leaving all of the exterior lights on. Then he added bars to all of the windows and doors. He also added chains and a padlock.
But that only made the thieves bolder.
“They’re coming in with guns now,” the owner said. Since they can’t get in when the store is closed, they’re storming in when it is open, guns blazing, literally.
In March, at 10:30 p.m., surveillance video shows two guys walk in, point guns at the clerk and take off with all the cash from the register.
A month later, on April 8, it’s like deja vu.
The same exact time, what looks like the same exact guys, do the exact same thing.
The first clerk was so scared, he quit his job.
“I have no idea what else we can do,” the owner said. “We are just doing our best.”
The store owner said he has faced upwards of $10,000 in damage and losses from the break-ins and robberies.
He is now offering a $1,000 cash reward to anyone who can give information that will lead to an arrest.
