A woman is being treated for a gunshot wound to the head at MetroHealth Medical Center after she and two others were shot at while leaving Lido's Lounge early Friday morning.
The 41-year-old woman sustained the injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening, when two men in a silver Chevy Trailblazer pulled up to the vehicle she was riding in and opened fire. Police say the car was riddled with bullet holes, and neither of the other two passengers suffered injuries.
No arrests have been made in the incident.
The trio left Lido's Lounge when the Trailblazer began following them on Interstate 90, according to police reports. When they exited on West 25th Street near Wade Avenue a man exited the Trailblazer and opened fire on them near the Royal Gas gas station.
The woman told police she believes the three were set up by the security guard at Lido's to be robbed. The guard, known as "Black," is a friend of one of the three involved in the shooting.
Police described the driver of the Trailblazer as a heavyset black man wearing glasses and a dark color hood. The shooter is described as a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall.
Police spoke to the clerk at Royal Gas who said he witnessed the incident. They also obtained a bullet fragment from a security guard at MetroHealth after the woman walked in with it in her hand.
