Police are investigating the shooting of a 13-year-old boy Tuesday night on E. 105th Street.

The boy was listed in serious condition at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital,  where he was with his parents and in the care of medical staff.

A family member identified the boy as Deshaun Wright.

The shooting was reported around 7:45 p.m. at East 105th Street and Ostend.

Deshaun was walking outside Glenville Grocery Store with a group of three boys, ages 12-13 years old, when the shooting occurred. Police say the boys were on the sidewalk -- two were walking and one was riding a bike -- when a dark colored vehicle rode by and the rear passenger shot out of the window.

Deshaun was shot in his arm. A 12-year-old was knocked off his bike when another round struck his bicycle. The third boy was knocked down by the boy falling from the bicycle, police said.

None of the other boys were injured by gunfire.

Police say the 13 year old was carried to the corner store by the other boys and emergency crews were called.
