Free Comic Book Day takes place worldwide on the first Saturday in May. Organizers are on a mission to celebrate the genre--and, of course, they hope to recruit new fans who will eventually spend money.
Comic publishers provide the comics to retailers at cost; then the retailers give them away. There is an annual list of titles, eagerly awaited by readers in Northeast Ohio and around the world.
