"I was in shock. I was like…I had no words. He’s just remarkable. But I think everything happens for a reason. So finding a positive in this. I believe he’s going to beat it. I really do."
This is Joseph.
We talked to his grandmother, Paula, as part of a series we are working on with University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
At 4 years old, Joseph is battling stage four neuroblastoma. He was diagnosed just two months ago.
Neuroblastoma accounts for about 6 percent of all cancers in children. There are about 700 new cases each year in the United States.
Throughout September, you’ll see stories, like Joseph's, on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as on News5Cleveland.com.
