An 18-month-old child became intoxicated at a sporting event after his mother put vodka in his sippy cup.

According to Conneaut Police, the child's mother, 30-year-old Andrea L. Mucciarone brought her son to the game and gave him a sippy cup with vodka in it on October 28. She told police that she did not remember bringing the alcohol, but that the child must have drank it and became intoxicated.

Police were called to UHHS Conneaut Medical Center for a report of child neglect. Once officers arrived, Mucciarone apologized and said she was negligent in allowing the child access to the alcoholic beverage.

Mucciarone was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for child endangering and was released on bond. The child was eventually released from the hospital and placed in the custody of a relative.
