More than five pounds of meth taken off the streets of Conneaut

CONNEAUT, Ohio — Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office has taken a large amount of methamphetamine off the street.

Deputies responded to a drug overdose investigation and multiple agencies disrupted a major source of meth that was being brought into the community, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office, Conneaut City Police Department, Ashtabula City Police Department, Geneva Police Department, ATF Youngstown, FBI and DEA have been conducting an ongoing drug investigation involving a large amount of meth that originated in Conneaut.

More than five pounds of meth was seized during the investigation, according to the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said this was the largest amount seized in Ashtabula County to date.

The identity of the suspects have not been released.
