A 20-foot sailing vessel carrying three people crashed into a Lake Erie break wall near the E. 55th Marina on Friday.
The Coast Guard said the vessel most likely crashed into the wall due to 20 nautical mile winds.
A second boat with two passenger came out near the break wall in an attempt to rescue the passengers on the sailing boat. The second boat got caught up in the winds and crashed into the break wall.
All of the passengers got out of the boat and held on to a nearby jetty before getting close enough to get back on shore.
The Coast Guard did not have to rescue anyone during the incident but they did have 25-foot boat in the general vicinity on standby.
The Coast Guard is investigating what exactly led to the sail boat to crash into the break wall.
