Early Wednesday transit users began grumbling about delays on RTA buses, by 7:22 a.m. RTA stated all parking lots were full, except for a few spots left at West Park.
Frustrated riders are complaining of long lines, not enough buses, and closed station parking. There were also complaints of people pushing.
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is grappling with the masses of people heading into the city to celebrate the Cavaliers winning the NBA championship Sunday.
Roads into Cleveland are also expected to congest as a crowd estimated to eventually reach 1 million begins to descend on downtown.
RTA tweeted riders asking for civility and apologizing for delays.
One Twitter user complained about fans being encouraged to use RTA in the first place. The transit authority responded that this is why Ohio needs to fund public transit.
@GCRTA today is more about proper planning then asking for funding. We were encouraged to take RTA, many of us listened, and now regret it

.@deepaksalag yes and rightfully so. This why Ohio needs to fund #publictransit we must address our lacking of Infrastructure funding.

Another rider looked to science for the answer.
@GCRTA can't defy the laws of physics. Only so many people can fit in a train/bus. https://t.co/RJD7LVoaGw
