The child in AMBER Alert has been returned home with his grandparents, according to the Akron Police Department.

The child and his mother were reunited shortly after the child was dropped off at his grandparent's house.

The child was 'taken by force' by his non-custodial father in Akron.
The suspect, Darrius Heard kicked down the door of the home where the child was staying with his mother.
The incident took place at an apartment on Callis Oval just before 4:30 a.m.
He hit the child's mother and then took the child with him, according to police.
