It started as a traffic stop on Route Two in Lorain County Wednesday night.
Amherst Police officer Jake Padrosky stopped a white van.
The driver had a suspended license.
The passenger admitted he had drugs on him.
Both men were put in the back of the police car.
Police believed the van was empty.
But another man was hiding in the back of the van.
As police searched for more drugs, they saw a foot sticking out of a blanket.
Padrosky recognized him as Nick Latorre.
Latorre was a fugitive wanted for shooting and trying to kill a man in Lorain.
“You look like a guy that’s wanted, are you wanted? You’re on the dangerous dozen list for something,
Dude I’m telling you, Lorain wants you”
Had Latorre been armed or jumped from the back of the van, police say this could have been a much different scenario.
Police said they also found heroin in the van.
