The Bedford City School District is closed Monday in honor of an intermediate school principal who died suddenly last week.
Administrators announced the death of Carlywood Intermediate School principal Paul Ward last Tuesday.
Funeral services are set for Monday at Mt. Zion Church in Oakwood Village. The wake will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by an Omega Fraternity Service from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will begin at noon.
Bedford schools are closed Monday in honor of Ward.
"He has touched the lives of all of us," said administrators.
Ward was with the school for 17 years, where he served as a special education teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal for the district.
