Broken blood vials and syringes were scattered in the area of Kinsman Road Wednesday morning, causing authorities to close the road as crews cleaned up the biohazard mess.
Cleveland firefighters were called to Kinsman Road and East 118th Street for reports of a hazmat cleanup.
Authorities are not sure how the syringes and vials ended up on the road, but as soon as they recognized what the items were, the department's hazmat unit was called to the scene.
Cleveland police blocked the roads between East 116th and East 121 Streets.
