Car Hits Two Police Cruisers during TrafficStop

Posted

A traffic stop turned violent at East 30th Street and Euclid Avenue early Thursday.

Several RTA employees called Cleveland Police about a car that was stopped with its lights off at the intersection right outside the WEWS NewsChannel 5 Studios.

When officers responded to the scene, they blocked the car in with two cruisers.

Upon searching the suspect vehicle, police found and removed a gun from the car.

As the officers were taking the gun, the driver of the car rammed into both cruisers blocking him.

Police tried to stop the man, and an officer was actually holding on to the suspect’s vehicle as he drove off.

The suspect drove east, eventually going over a hill and landing on its side.

When police arrived at the crash, the suspect was gone.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

The registration of the vehicle shows that it belongs to a woman.

The officers involved in the initial traffic stop were not seriously hurt, but went to University Hospital to be evaluated.
