Car plows into Seven Hills living room

One woman suffered minor injuries after she mistook her car's gas pedal for the brake, and wound up plowing the Kia she was driving into her brother-in-law’s living room.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Beacon Hill Court in Seven Hills.

A tow truck had the car out in about an hour. The couple who lives at the home was inside at the time, but not in the living room and they were not injured. They told newsnet5.com they thought the vacant home next door exploded, only to discover their relative’s car in the living room instead.

Neighbors rushed over to help rescue the trapped driver.

“I think everybody in the neighborhood jumped into action,” Lynn Suredam said. "My brother was over here helping pull some of the bricks out. Her husband was helping. Everybody really pitched in and tried to get her out of the car."

Seven Hills firefighters helped shore up that load-bearing wall and made sure there were not flammable liquids nearby.
