The car belonging to the son of Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams that was reported stolen this weekend was found Tuesday morning, East Cleveland police said.

According to police, the car was recovered at around 1:40 a.m. on Speedway Overlook.

A police source told newsnet5.com on Saturday that the car was stolen from a gas station in Euclid after the police chief's son got out of the vehicle and left the car running with the keys inside.

The source said an unknown female climbed into the car and sped off. A loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson was left in the back seat.

When the car -- a 2011 Chevrolet Impala -- was found Tuesday, the weapon was not recovered, East Cleveland police said.
