The Cleveland Police Department Bomb Squad was called out to the city's west side Tuesday morning after residents were woken up by an explosion
The bomb squad arrived to W. 122th Street just south of Lorain Avenue after a report of the suspicious trash can appeared to have been bombed.
The lid of the trash can was blown off along with a hole in the side of the can.
The bomb squad checked other trash cans in the area as a precautionary measure.
There's no further information about what may have caused the explosion.
