The Cleveland Fire Department evacuated a west side neighborhood following a gas leak near W. 41st and I-90.

The gas leak started in a building on W. 38th Street and Freas Avenue, according to fire crews.

A gas meter was deteriorated which caused it to fall from the building and release gas into the neighborhood.

The owner of the building was inside at the time. He was unaware of any gas leak until the fire department arrived.

W.41st Street was blocked off as crews continued to monitor the scene.
