Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is now a base for an international airline.

Icelandair will become the first airline to operate transatlantic service from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on a year-round schedule.

The airline will fly five times a week to Reykjavik, Iceland. Last year, Icelandair became the first carrier to offer nonstop flights to Europe from Cleveland in eight years, according to the airline.

Icelandair launched the service in May, which has given passengers access to more than 25 European destinations.
