A man was indicted for murder and two other charges after he kicked a man in the groin, which led to the victim's death, according to officials.

On May 11, 2013 near East 65th Street and Lansing Avenue, Willie Cannon was attending his niece's birthday party when he was approached by the suspect, identified as Jackie Pierce, 55, of Cleveland.

According to court documents, Pierce demanded money from Cannon. When Cannon refused, Pierce repeatedly kicked him in the groin, then took money from Cannon's pockets.

Cannon sustained a ruptured right testicle that became sepsis from gangrene. He eventually died form his injuries, police reported.

Pierce was indicted by the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas for two counts of murder, one count of felonious assault, and one count of robbery.

Police do not have Pierce in custody. He was summoned to Cuyahoga County court on April 12.
