Cleveland native and Green Bay Packers line backer Jayrone Elliott put huge smiles on many kids’ faces as he made a surprise visit to the Boys and Girls Club Broadway Avenue location Saturday.
Elliott dropped in on the kids where he played basketball with a few of the members and gave a talk to the kids about the importance of education, making smart and important life decisions and healthy eating habits.
Elliott also shared some of his personal life struggles in hopes of making a difference with the local youth.
“I thought playing football would get me through high school and into college, but then I realized it was more to it than that” Elliott said.
Elliott has played with the Packers since 2014; he is a graduate from University of Toledo and attended Ginn Academy and Glenville high school in Cleveland.
