Cleveland police are looking for any leads that will solve the shooting death of a man who was found with a gunshot wound to his head late last month.
Jermaine Cottrell Jr., 23, was found on the ground April 29 on East 131st Street and Caine Avenue being helped by a woman, according to a police news release.
A brief investigation revealed Cottrell and two others were inside a vehicle traveling and someone inside was exchanging gunfire with a man walking on the street.
The man was returning fire, the news release said.
Cottrell's vehicle was crashed into a building.
Another man named "Butter" was also inside of the vehicle but ran away from the scene.
Contrell was taken to University Hospital to be treated for his injuries and was pronounced dead Tuesday.
