A Cleveland woman said she was robbed at gunpoint in the middle of the afternoon and the robber was never caught.
According to a Cleveland Police report, the crime happened on Friday around 5:35 p.m. on E. 82nd Street between Euclid and Chester Avenues.
The victim, who did not want to be identified, said she was walking home from the Healthline bus, when a man on a bike wearing dark clothing held a gun to her head and demanded money. She emptied $300 from her purse before he ordered her to take the battery out of her cell phone.
That money, she said, was from her deceased father’s social security account.
“I was shocked, scared, nervous,” she said. “My father, he just passed away in November, so that’s what he robbed me for, and I really don’t have anything right now.”
The victim flagged down a nearby police officer and was not hurt. If you have any information, call Cleveland Police.
