Cuyahoga County residents facing COVID-19 hardships may be eligible for rent assistance

CLEVELAND — Residents of Cuyahoga County who are struggling to pay rent due to COVID-19 related hardships are getting a helping hand when they need it most.

CHN Housing Partners received funding from the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County through the CARES Act that is being used to help residents who are in need pay their rent as part of the Northeast Ohio Rent Help program.

Those who are facing COVID_19-related hardships and below 120% of the area median income may qualify for up to three months of rent payments. Longer term assistance may also be available for those who qualify.

CHN Housing Partners said that it has already received over 3,000 applications and more than 2,000 additional applications have been started online.
