Until further notice, the Cuyahoga Heights Schools superintendent is on paid administrative leave.
Administrators announced on Wednesday that all district operational and administrative decisions will go through Theodore Caleris, director of administrative services and transportation for the district.
Tom Evans is out on paid administrative leave.
At this time, the district has not said why he was placed on leave.
According to the Cuyahoga Heights Association of Teachers Facebook page, Evans was placed on leave at an emergency board meeting Tuesday evening.
"CHAT [Cuyahoga Heights Association of Teachers] believes that Tom has been unfairly targeted and disciplined," the post reads. "This action was taken outside of the public view and without explanation. CHAT is saddened and disturbed that a true son of the community would be treated this way as Mr. Evans is a respected Superintendent and beloved member of the Cuyahoga Heights family."
