A short police chase early Tuesday morning sent a driver to the hospital and left a car on its side in Maple Heights.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, a trooper attempted a traffic stop on I-480 near Warrensville Center Road around 3 a.m. when the driver took off and exited the highway.
The driver went down Maple Heights Boulevard and lost control near Nitra Avenue running over a fire hydrant and a stop sign before flipping over in a front yard.
The car came to rest on its side against the front porch of a home and a tree.
Maple Heights firefighters said the home was occupied but no one was home at the time of the crash.
The driver was taken to a local hospital, and once released troopers said he would be facing a list of charges.
Troopers told News 5 the pursuit lasted roughly one minute.
