EUCLID, Ohio — The allegations are alarming. Sexual comments, graphic language and inappropriate touching and hugging are just a few things mentioned in a 2017 letter from Euclid Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail about her aide Kristal Grida.
Grida has been the top aid to Euclid's mayor for many years and even after an internal investigation found that she did not deny any of the claims, she's still the mayor's top aid.
"We followed our disciplinary policies and discipline was administered I am not going to comment on personnel matters," said Mayor Holzheimer Gail.
According to that same discipline letter News 5 acquired through a public records request, the discipline involved Grida being moved from the housing department to neighborhood engagement and community building.
Grida declined to comment at Euclid Monday night's city council meeting.
"I don't really have anything to say," she said.
But 7th ward Councilman Daryl Langman had plenty to talk about.
"I'm afraid that because this is going on, this the mayor's top lieutenant that they went easy on her," said Councilman Langman.
He says he wants to know more about this 2017 internal investigation.
"Obviously it's very serious, especially in today's environment," he said.
