Police say the officer left the Taco Bell at 4110 Lee Road and was putting items into her personal car when a suspect came up behind her and tried to take her service weapon.

The officer fought back and another suspect approached and beat her repeatedly in the face.

The suspects took the officer's gun and fled.

The officer was treated for facial injuries.
