"The two ladies who were shot, who were victims, worked in housekeeping,” said Thomas Miller, Interim Executive Director of the Hamlet Village Retirement Center.

The two women killed in a shooting in Chagrin Falls Thursday morning were identified as identified as 58-year-old Catherine Sutter of Burton and 58-year-old Terri Treadway of Chardon.

Miller said Treadway and Sutter we're making their housekeeping rounds, when they were shot and killed in building 14.

AirTracker5 showed numerous police arriving at the retirement village Thursday morning.

"I am really sad today by what has occurred, we have lost two of our long time employees, who are dearly loved here at Hamlet. Our hearts go out to the family, words can't begin to express the loss, or the senseless loss,” Miller said.

The alleged suspect, a man, was a chef in the dining room and was taken to the hospital.

Miller said workers at Hamlet are tight knit and the 300 residents consider the workers friends.

"The residents are close to the employees here, so they will be affected by it. This is just a very very sad day,” Miller said.

Grief counselors are being brought in to talk with staff distraught over the tragedy.
