Lakewood City Council voted to transform the Lakewood Hospital into an outpatient center Monday night.
Council took the final vote Monday evening on the recently reached deal between city council, Lakewood Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic.
The proposal calls for the Lakewood Hospital to become an outpatient center with a 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year emergency room.
The outpatient center is scheduled to open in June 2018.
